You are very welcome to stay to the lovely toddler group and join in with their activities which include plenty of toys, ride-ons, craft, singing and Bible stories. It is a very safe and welcoming group which I would highly commend.

The church is near the junction of Stoke Road and York Road, opposite Sandfield School and along a bit towards the town centre!
If you are coming by car, the best place to park is York Road car park (£1 per hour) Leave by the pedestrian exit on level 9 and turn to the right through the black iron gates to come in at the back of the church, there are a few steps to the right hand side of the building that bring you to the main entrance at the side.
If you are walking, from the top of North Street in the town centre, follow Chertsey Street out of town (the road with Cath Kidston and Turtle Bay) and the church will be on your right about a hundred yards along. Please use the side entrance to the church building.
The library allows you to come and browse the collection of carriers, try on a few and then hire up to two slings at a time for a hire period of a fortnight. During busy library sessions we will be only be able to spend 10 minutes with each family in order to ensure everyone gets seen and isn't kept waiting unfairly. The usual hire fee is £10 per fortnight, but you will also need to leave a refundable deposit for the value of the carrier in case of loss or damage (this is between £30-£80). We do prefer the hire fee to be paid in cash if at all possible, but are able to accept card payments via the SquareUp card reader, or you can do a bank transfer. Deposits can also be taken by any of these methods or by cheque.
You will need to read the Terms and Conditions and fill out a Hire Form for each hire, and return the carrier to the library a fortnight later. Late return fees apply in order to aim to keep as many slings available for library users at any given time. If there is a particular sling you are wanting to hire, please contact me in advance so I can reserve it for you.
If you wish to purchase a carrier of your own after using one from the library, please let me know, as I am able to obtain library user discount codes for many makes of carrier!
We also have handmade suck pads available to buy to raise funds for the library- perfect to prolong the life of buckle carriers and prevent little ones chewing on straps. Fully washable, £8 a pair, in various designs, please ask!
Please note that I am trained to be able to give only the most basic babywearing support and I am not personally experienced with woven wraps, although one of the library helpers is! If you need advice regarding a tricky or unusual situation or medical condition, or more complex wrapping techniques you will need to see a babywearing consultant. Ask me for details!
Details and pictures of all the slings and carriers that are stocked at the library are found here, and if you would like to see some video tutorials for how to use common types of sling, please look here.
